Ecos en el Espejo

The immensity of the end of the world; the space, the untamed and indomitable nature embraces the man who is diluted before the whims of the being. Trapped in a changing, fierce and schizophrenic place, a landscape that imposes itself with multiple faces, with layers; layers that in turn hide what it appears to be, marks the rhythm of the mental drift that reacts to the stimuli of the fierceness of the immensity. After ninety days of camping on an island in Antarctica, where there were only five people, the work seeks to generate a hybridity between the potential and immensity of nature, which only follows its own whims and imposes on us certain illusions impossible to catch, a smoke that is nothing more than an imaginary space of the head that tests and merges with that which sometimes embraces it and sometimes hurts it. Nature thus imposes itself as a creator of fantasies, as something that exalts; at the same time it exceeds man. The space marked by traces of reminiscence, vestiges of times past that give us a purpose for being in the confines of the world, for immersing ourselves in the totality that surrounds us. Music, in turn, reminds us who we are and where we come from. It brings us closer to home, while at the same time taking us there. The suburbs of Buenos Aires live in the everyday imaginary, which eliminates all remnants of sociability, of civilisation, in a context in which this ceases to exist and only survives as something distant. This single-channel video essay, which is in turn part of a larger transmedia work, addresses a series of questions that do not seek answers, but rather put into real time a conceptual and personal search.
